Stunning chevron skirt suit from the early Seventies in brown and cream cotton crepe. Very sadly this piece has lost its manufacturers label over the years but it still has a dry clean label, showing that it's a commercial piece. These faceted art deco buttons were used by both Biba and Bus Stop, but I haven't been able to clearly identify it as either yet. Regardless, it's a stunning piece and very much in their distinctive Deco-inspired style. I am such a sucker for monochromes and chevrons, and this doesn't disappoint. With simple cutting in the jacket, collarless v-neck and gently flared sleeves, and a little kick pleat split in the mini skirt, this is so fresh and sweet.

Measurements:

Jacket: Bust 36" - Waist 31" - Hips 36" - Length 29"

Skirt: Waist 28" - Hips 38" - Length 21"

Fabric:

Feels like a cotton crepe

Condition:

A few minor issues, nothing structural. There are a few faint marks, pictured below, and a strange 'bleached' patch near the hem in the back of the jacket. Slight grubbiness around the neckline (camera struggled to pick it up). A couple of mends on one sleeve (sleeves could be shortened and these eliminated completely). The sleeves have a hand sewn hem, they may have been 'let down' rather than shortened. Still a very wearable piece but I like to be as upfront as possible about these things. Sold as vintage.
