Fiorucci

Halston, Gucci... I cannot look at this piece without immediately getting Sister Sledge on a loop in my brain. For this is a superb, ultimate example of Fiorucci's iconic late Seventies 'Disco' look, immortalised in the aforementioned Sister Sledge song and also in the film Xanadu, which films an entire dance number in the New York store.

This outfit is pink, sparkly, brash, trashy... everything you would want from Fiorucci. Except to a modern eye, it's a beautiful piece of clothing art and history, made all the more interesting by the inclusion of the original Italian purchase bag which is from a boutique called 'Viva Hollywood' in Jesolo Lido. The trousers are a perfect Fifties-style cigarette shape, and the bustier top is lightly boned and fastened with a deliciously chunky zip at the side. You might not be the Greatest Dancer, but you'll definitely look the part...
