Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche

Superb silver lamé wrap blouse by Paris' King of Pret à Porter, Yves Saint Laurent. He started his career at Christian Dior in the Fifties, started his own couture house in 1962 and launched the massively successful Rive Gauche Ready-to-Wear boutique in 1966 (in response to the clear popularity of such boutiques in London at the time).

This delicious blouse is an early Seventies piece of Rive Gauche when Saint Laurent was doing his own brand of 'haute hippy' using lush fabrics such as this silver lame chiffon. Wrap around with an unusual notched hem which shows that sliver of midriff at the front. I'm a huge fan of anything frilly and ruffly, particularly when they're as bouncy as the collar on this beauty! Perfect with the current vogue for high waists!

Difficult to measure due to wrap styling. Shown unpinned on my UK 8 mannequin. Approx UK8-12

Label:Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche / Colour:silver / Fabric:unusual transparent lame chiffon fabric - see close-up
